9/21/07 - Day of Death

It had been a long day for Wiley and he was very tired. It stressed him out to know that he had limited days of school left and he still had not finished his big project for English. What was one thing he even did exciting this year? As he thought about this, he had noticed his friend Monica looking through her locker for something. "Hey Monica, what are you doing" he said a little bit unsure if she knew what she was doing.

"Oh, hi." Monica avoids eye contact. She shuts her locker door and begins to turn away, glancing briefly towards Wiley. She thinks to herself, "GO AWAY!"

Wiley sighed, his friend was always the one to pull something like that on him. "Are you really going to pull this" he said as he looked at the ceiling for a brief moment and then back down as Monica turned away.

Monica knows to herself that she cannot allow herself to get too close to anyone anymore. Any sort of association with the wrong people could cause a great imbalance in the system. She had been Wiley's friend for a while now, and so far her identity had been well disguised. How long could this last? Her story has been slipping lately. Monica heads for the Fishbowl, or the center of the school, where Wiley greets her again.

Wiley decides just to follow her as he thinks for a moment. She has been acting strange lately. Something could be on her mind, maybe she was some kind of spy or maybe she is a terrorist. "Wait up" said Wiley as he followed behind her. "Sup Wiley" said one of his friend Finn as he walked past him. Wiley ignoring all distractions trying to find where Monica was going, just kept going straight.

Monica notices Wiley's persistence. She stops and thinks to herself; she knows she can't just ignore him. "Hey Wiley," She sits on a close-by bench and sets down her things, "Sorry about that." Monica reaches into her school bag and pulls out a medium sized container. She opens it and hands Wiley a peanut butter cookie. "Made them this morning." She says.

Wiley stops as he knows he does not like peanutbutter but just holds it and looks down at her. "Sorry?" asked Wiley knowing that how could you be sorry. She acknowledged him, as if that was not obvious enough. The fact she said sorry, was a complete obvious sign to him that she knew she was doing something wrong. "So? Why were you walking away. Just to sit on a bench and give me a cookie" said Wiley looking at her.

Monica realizes that Wiley must know more than he should. "Some things aren't right." Monica stands up and gathers her things. She leaves Wiley with the cookie, hoping it is a good enough sign. She secretly wants him to follow her but the danger of it all is too much of a risk. Monica cares for Wiley, and wants him to know but for now she cannot directly tell him. He must find out for himself.

"Stop, come with me" said Wiley as he quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her aside. He pulled her outside by two vending machines. No one was there it was just the two of them as Wiley looked into her eyes and then kissed her.

They stop for a moment. Monica's insides are turning with butterflies. She leans in again for she has been waiting for this since the day she first met him (Dec. 6, 2011 ) Wiley does not return for another kiss, which worries Monica. "What's wrong?," she asks.

"I want to go on a date with you" said Wiley with a grin, sort of happy she excepted it. "How about we skip school and go somewhere?" he asked with a grin.

Monica knows the risks. But her feelings could be what would lead both him and herself into great danger. "I want to be honest with you," she says, "I have a secret that you have to promise me that you will not tell."

"Uh and what is it" asked Wiley kind of confused.

"I'm part of this thing... something that isn't good." Monica takes Wiley over to some place private. Monica looks at Wiley with concern, feeling bad for the way things are. Monica begins to tell Wiley about the system... "It's a secret government organization created for expanding the theory of 9-21-07. That is the date where the Sun is believed to emit a gas that will cause neuro damage. But this 'damage' isn't really damage ...with the right schematics, the emissions could be used for mind control." Monica waits for moment. "Do you follow?"

Wiley looked at Monica for a moment, puzzled but quickly catching up to what she was saying. "Ya, of course I follow. I mean what does this have to do with anything" said Wiley as looked for another second into Monica's beautiful brown eyes.

"So, they've recruited people like me to become their middle man. Our jobs are to find a person who fits with the specific requirements we are assigned to. Once we find the person, we are expected to report back to personnel and basically fall of the face of the earth." Monica takes a deep breath. "I have to go now."

"No" said Wiley as he grabbed her arm. "Come with me first" he said looking into her eyes. He quickly made her follow along as they went off to a place that he had been familiar with since he was just a child. When he was just five he had found this place but what had become of it was not a lot of damage. A old house that he had been fond of since he found it. The address on it had said 92107 as Wiley crept up to the door and opened it.

"Well she ain't much but she is where I love to chill" said Wiley with a slight chuckle as he showed Monica the old house with creaky floors and dusty furniture. You could tell the place was only for chilling and not living.

"Wiley, what is this place?" Monica asks, "It's beautiful for a house of dust." She reminds herself not to get so distracted. "Wiley, I don't have much time..."

Wiley quickly before Monica says anymore kisses her. "I spent a load of time here. I mean, I never really had much friends." he said as he pulled her upstairs toward a bedroom that was in the most kept up condition it could be. "This book was given to me by my father before he died. It says well nothing really I guess. It has a bunch of scribbles and math equations" said Wiley showing his valuables.

Examining the math equations, Monica asks, "What did your Father do?"

"Eh, I am not sure" said Wiley as he laid back in the bed and stared at the ceiling that he had glued mirrors on so he could look up at himself.

"Wiley! These aren't just equations, they're THE schematics!" Monica joins Wiley in the bed, "Look at the way they are written. The numbers 9-21-07 show up in a pattern. It actually looks ...kinda like a map." Monica flips the pages. "Here, in the back," Monica looks up to Wiley, "This is a diagram of the human brain."

Wiley a bit confused was looking at the map for a long time before he could understand anything. "Oh the human brain" he said looking at the page she pointed to be a diagram of the brain. "Only problem is the fact that the brain is missing stuff" said Wiley being a great student in biology.

"Yeah, it does look a little empty," Monica flips through the last of the pages, "Nothing." She looks over to Wiley, expecting some sort of feedback.

Wiley thinks for a moment, he then pulled something out from inside his pillowcase. "I did get this from my mother before she passed away. It is a CD although, I never been able to play it being nobody has a CD player anymore" he said with a sort of gloomy look. Being they were so advanced, the need to play CD's was unneeded.

CD's were extinct and it was all straight download and play for anything. It was unlikely the CD may help but it seemed to be all he really had.
